Help, I'm broken down!

If you’ve broken down, the most important thing is to stay calm and make sure you’re in a safe place. If you can, move your vehicle to a safer spot, away from traffic, and put your hazard lights on to warn other drivers. It’s also important to decide whether it’s safe to stay in the vehicle. If it isn’t, get out carefully on the side furthest from traffic, and wait behind a barrier or well away from the road. If in the unlikely event that you can’t leave the vehicle, stay inside and keep your seatbelt on.
